| A5. Background / history / overall program / related or similar projects: | ||
| Minsk Automatic Lines Plant was established in May, 1954. Construction of its manufacturing buildings was commenced in September, 1954. At the same time, a special design engineering bureau was established which started immediately to develop designs of machines and automatic lines. A tool shop where engineering process preparation was carried out such as manufacture of accessories and tools, was among the first to start functioning. Components of the first machines were manufactured in this shop too. Divisions, dealing with process preparation, were established among the first ones. In November 1957, the first unit-type machine was manufactured at the plant while the first automatic line was manufactured in 1958. 418 metal-cutting machines and 13 automatic lines were manufactured already in 1960. By the end of 1961, all the main and auxiliary plant shops were put in commission. In 1975, Minsk Production Association for Automatic Lines Production, named after the 60-th anniversary of the Great October, was established. Pursuant to the Order of the Minister of Industry of the Republic of Belarus dated May 18, 2002 No. 193 “On termination of activities of Minsk Production Association for Automatic Lines Production, named after the 60-th anniversary of the Great October”, Minsk Automatic Lines Plant named after P.M.Masherov Production Republican Unitary Enterprise (MZAL named after P.M.Masherov UE) was reorganized through amalgamation with Minsk Production Association for Automatic Lines Production, named after the 60-th anniversary of the Great October. Pursuant to the above Order, Minsk Automatic Lines Plant named after P.M.Masherov Unitary Enterprise (MZAL named after P.M.Masherov UE) is considered a legal successor of all the rights and obligations of Minsk Production Association for Automatic Lines Production, named after the 60-th anniversary of the Great October. At present, the plant is a large-size machine-building enterprise with well-developed technical facilities and infrastructure, highly qualified personnel with extensive work experience. The total area of the enterprise, located in the center of Minsk, is equal to 21,26 ha. The Enterprise has a convenient transport communication with all the districts of Minsk City. The Enterprise has a railway branch, allowing to dispatch finished products and receive various cargo. The Enterprise is well connected with all Minsk central traffic arteries. Its access ways provide for receipt and dispatch of automobile cargo. Thermal power station-3 (TEZ-3) and Minskenergo are the main organizations which supply power and heat energy to the Enterprise. Gas is provided by Mingaz PA on a central basis. Water is supplied from the own wells. |
